Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LOCKD mobile application ("LOCKD", "the app", "we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

LOCKD is intended for users aged 13 and over. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

2. The Service

LOCKD is a focus and productivity app that lets you run timed focus sessions, earn XP, level up, unlock achievements, compete on leaderboards, connect with friends, run co-op sessions, and block distracting apps during a session. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may set, change, or remove limits on the service without notice.

3. LOCKD+ Subscriptions

LOCKD offers an optional premium upgrade, LOCKD+, which unlocks additional features such as Insights, custom session durations, a lo-fi radio, extra app accents, strict mode, and streak freeze. LOCKD+ is available as an auto-renewable subscription and, where offered, as a one-time "Forever" purchase.

• Plans: LOCKD+ Monthly and LOCKD+ Yearly are auto-renewable subscriptions; LOCKD+ Forever is a one-time, non-renewing purchase.
• Price: the price of each plan is shown in the app at the point of purchase, in your local currency.
• Free trial: where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Managing & cancelling: payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account on confirmation of purchase. You can manage or cancel a subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple or Google and are subject to their refund policies; we cannot issue store refunds directly.

4. Your Account & Profile

Some features require a profile (such as a username and avatar). You are responsible for the activity that happens under your profile and for keeping access to your device secure. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate any person or use a username that is offensive, infringing, or misleading.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through social or co-op features
• Cheat, manipulate, or falsify XP, streaks, sessions, or leaderboard rankings
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app or its systems
• Access the app through automated means (bots, scrapers) or disrupt its operation
• Upload or share content that is illegal, infringing, or violates others' rights

We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms or misuse the service.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you create in the app, such as journal entries, session notes, and your chosen username. You are solely responsible for your content. By using social and leaderboard features, you understand that your username, avatar, XP, and public stats are visible to other users, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, branding, logos, text, graphics, and software, is owned by f.l.n.k. and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app without our permission.

8. Third-Party Services

The app relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase for authentication, data storage, and analytics. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms and policies of the app stores (Apple App Store and Google Play) through which you download it. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data (including streaks, XP, or session history) will always be preserved. You use the app at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, f.l.n.k. and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and request deletion of your account as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the app.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
